I’ve rewritten The Road to Bluehorse, but it didn’t need a whole lot of work. I will start posting the updated chapters soon.
Now I am rewriting its sequel Homeward by Night, which does need a ton of work—the dialog is too clever by half, and at least two chapters need to be wholly rewritten. The method that worked on Bluehorse, writing 500+ words per day and posting them immediately, didn’t work so well on Homeward, where instead of fresh and speedy it came off as half-cooked and a bit damp.
So, yes, rewrite. A vital part of the process. As Hemingway said, write drunk, rewrite sober.
Then (and I’m looking at the end of May for this) it’ll be time for something new. And that something new is about Lilah Bay.
